Illini Records and the Countrypolitan Recording Studios opened for business in August 1973 at 2110 Republic, Springfield, Illinois. Owned and operated by Andy Acree and Glen Hurley. The chief engineer was Fritz Brading. An article in Billboard magazine from July 1973 claimed that the studio was Springfield's first. The operation however only lasted a couple years. There was at least one single released under the label Lincoln Land Records - A Division of Illini Records (highlighted below in blue).
