Gidians Bible broke up shortly after Kickapoo because I got my draft notice for the Army, and David Campbell, our keyboardist, quit also.<br /> Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7957020552119423233.post-41868670566397137932022-09-14T16:51:25.255-05:002022-09-14T16:51:25.255-05:00It was the Grim ReapersIt was the Grim ReapersAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7957020552119423233.post-80716649086100785912022-02-15T08:51:29.144-06:002022-02-15T08:51:29.144-06:00I believe it was the Grim Reapers I believe it was the Grim Reapers semplemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07386718496928694784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7957020552119423233.post-83238079497897809012021-11-13T16:09:19.688-06:002021-11-13T16:09:19.688-06:00I was there for 3 days…a few things I remember but...I was there for 3 days…a few things I remember but have not seen images of 1. The band Faces or small faces? 2 a Kinsey like painted bus, could it have been the pranksters? 3. A motorcycle club took over one of the barns, one of the guys paraded around wearing a bearskin rug…part of the security? It is always bothered me that the bands have never been well documented. I hope to correct that as much as I can. Stay tuned.Downstate Soundshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02236887404616003583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7957020552119423233.post-79694038569996712032020-05-28T16:00:13.997-05:002020-05-28T16:00:13.997-05:00This is the most comprehensive re-cap I've see...This is the most comprehensive re-cap I've seen of this show! I was a student, then lived and worked in Champaign in the late 1970's and early 1980's, and there wasn't a whole lot that was documented about this event. It existed mostly as folklore! Largely from my own memory and with only a minimum of substantiation...Feathertrain's line-up for this show might have included Dana Walden (Champaign), Gary Richrath and Bruce Hall (REO Speedwagon). I seem to recall a photograph from that era with all three as members of Feathertrain, though Gary Richrath might have already joined REO at the time of this show. Was future REO vocalist Mike Murphy a member of One Eyed Jacks for this show? I think Aorta had dissolved for good some time in 1970. If they played, it's possible the late Michael Been (The Call) was a member of the band for this show. His son Robert Been carries-on today with his own band, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
